Eva Bauer

Eva joined MC Services in 2018 and has more than 20 years of experience in Public Relations. Prior to joining MC Services, Eva worked with Ketchum Pleon, a global PR agency, for 14 years, where she played a leading role as a Business Director in the Company’s Healthcare department. She also previously worked at Fleishman-Hillard, serving clients from the pharmaceutical and insurance industries. Her experience includes working with several top 20 pharmaceutical companies, including in the areas of cardiology, diabetes, gastrointestinal diseases, pain, vaccines, and nutritional supplements (OTC). Eva holds a degree in law. In addition to corporate communications, Eva focuses on supporting clients’ commercialization activities, including the strategic positioning of new drugs and healthcare products. Tasks range from pre-approval market-shaping activities for potential prescribers to launch communications, as well as patient awareness, cross-marketing, crisis prevention and issues management.

Caroline Bergmann

Caro is Executive Director at MC Services. She joined the firm in 2011 and has taken on roles of increasing responsibility during her tenure. Clients rely on her strategic consulting, communications planning, crisis preparedness training and media relations skills. She is responsible for a wide range of accounts from large pharma to small biotech companies. Caro was instrumental in establishing the Düsseldorf office and building and developing the team. She studied English and journalism at the University of Leipzig, including a semester at the University of Wales in the UK. She also was a freelance writer for local newspapers and special interest magazines.

Shaun Brown

Shaun joined MC Services in 2009. He spent the last 20 years writing on and advising companies in the Life Sciences industry. Previously, he has been a director of Innovator Capital Limited, a boutique investment bank, and before this he was a director of Capital MS&L. Shaun focused on Public and Investor Relations for companies in the sector, advising on all aspects of their communications strategies. Prior to this, he spent over eight years as a reporter and later news editor and senior writer with BioCentury covering the global biotech and pharma industry. Shaun has written about and advised on major stories covering client companies and therapeutic subjects. Shaun is an IT specialist and economist by training. Besides his knowledge of the Life Sciences industry, Shaun’s sector expertise includes Renewable Energies, Cleantech and Economic Development. Shaun is FSA authorized.

Laurie Doyle

Laurie joined MC Services in 2016 and has 25 years of investor relations and corporate communications experience. Prior to joining MC Services, Laurie led US IR and corporate communications at the French biotech, Transgene. She previously served as head of IR and corporate communications for immunotherapy company, Agennix, and led US IR and corporate communications for the oncology company, GPC Biotech. She began her IR career at Organogenesis, a tissue engineering firm. She has spearheaded a wide range of initiatives, including raising awareness and understanding of the companies for which she worked in the investment community and press. She has led IR and PR activities around a variety of major news events, including Phase III data readouts, M&A and leadership change, and has been a key team member for major financings, including a Nasdaq listing. Laurie has an MBA from Simmons University and a BA in Russian from Middlebury College.

Catherine Featherston

Catherine joined MC Services as a consultant in 2019. She has 20 years of experience in business journalism and science communications. As a print journalist, she has covered the EU pharmaceutical sector and international news from Berlin, and national affairs and global business from New York. She received two regional reporting awards from the U.S. Society for Professional Journalists (SPJ) and is a member of the Verein der Ausländischen Presse in Germany (VAP).

As an independent multimedia journalist in Washington, D.C. Catherine produced science programs for National Geographic, Discovery Networks, Georgetown University, the Biophysical Society, and the Smithsonian Channel.

Her work at MC Services allows her to combine this range of experience and use her skills to support innovative life science companies and their investors. She provides consulting in media training—informed by years of interviews with experts in science, national and international affairs, and business—thought leadership, message development, stakeholder engagement and media outreach. Catherine has a strong interest in helping European companies raise their international profiles, and in creating opportunities for them to demonstrate their expertise, develop their reputations and increase awareness of their innovative work.

Dr. Solveigh Mähler

Solveigh joined MC Services in 2013 with over 14 years of experience in capital markets with a track-record of over 10 years as Director Investor Relations/Public Relations with QIAGEN, a global market leading company with dual-listings on the Deutsche Börse and NASDAQ exchanges. In this position, she was responsible for the company’s communications strategy during more than 20 M&A deals and numerous capital raising activities. Under her direction, the QIAGEN team was repeatedly awarded for its IR performance. Prior to joining QIAGEN, she worked as a sell-side analyst and life sciences sector specialist with former WestLB.

Kaja Skorka

Since joining MC Services in 2014, Kaja has assumed roles of increasing responsibility. An expert in PR and IR, her focus at MC Services is on supporting clients in developing their communication strategy and positioning, as well as in interacting with the financial community. She has extensive international experience and intercultural communication skills gained through her work with international organizations and NGOs in Spain and Mexico. Kaja began her career in the field of Public Affairs at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Communication. She holds a degree in Communication, Political Science and Public Law from the University of Muenster. Her sector experience includes biotechnology, medical technology and venture capital, with a focus on oncology, neonatology and digital health.

Julia von Hummel

Julia joined MC Services in 2014 with over 13 years of experience in Public Relations. Previously, Julia worked with the biopharmaceutical company Cephalon (now Teva Pharmaceutical) where she held different positions: As PR manager she was in charge of corporate communication and product PR in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. As product manager she was responsible for marketing a neurological product in Germany and Austria. Prior to this, she was Account Manager in the healthcare division of the PR agency WeberShandwick, where she executed PR and marketing strategies for big pharma and medtech clients. Julia started her professional career as PR Manager at MediGene AG and holds a degree in biology and public relations.
